Choose your starting space
Van templates with dimensions you can inspect and change
Choose from 44 body-size and drivetrain references across 9 families: Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Fiat Ducato, Citroën Relay, Peugeot Boxer, Volkswagen Transporter 6.1, Volkswagen Crafter, Renault Master IV and Renault Trafic III. Each reference identifies its source edition; published dimensions and reconstructed contours remain distinct.
Compare the exact body size, roof and drivetrain
Start with the make, then compare the family dimension table before choosing a reference in the planner. Body labels alone do not establish usable space: Transit FWD and RWD can have different internal heights, and the longest bodies can share a shorter van's wheelbase while extending its rear overhang.
Use cargo size, arch gap and door opening together
The family tables show nominal cargo length, width and height alongside wheelbase, width between the arches and side-door opening size. A maximum cargo width is not a clear bed span at every height. Door-opening dimensions describe an aperture, not its exact position relative to your finished furniture.
Keep shared-platform vans as separate references
Ducato, Relay and Boxer share a body family, with many matching cargo dimensions in the cited editions. Each still has its own make-specific source record. Do not assume identical exterior heights, equipment, trim or every local contour because two vans use the same L/H label.
Choose the length, roof and drivetrain for your van
In the planner, select a van model, then a researched body size and drivetrain group. Transit references cover L2H2, L2H3, L3H2 and L3H3 in separate FWD and RWD/AWD single-rear-wheel dimensional groups, plus L4H3 RWD/AWD. Sprinter references cover L2H1, L2H2, L3H2 and L4H2 RWD 3.5 tonne. The H1 Sprinter uses an explicitly older source edition.
Ducato and Boxer references cover L2H1, L2H2, L3H2, L3H3, L4H2 and L4H3. Relay also includes its documented L1H1. Transporter 6.1 covers SWB/LWB normal roofs and LWB high roof; Crafter covers four FWD MWB/LWB/Maxi combinations. Master IV has three Swiss FWD single-wheel L2/L3 references, while Trafic III has two Swiss L1H1/L2H1 references. Each family page keeps its source and limitations visible. Only sourced combinations are listed, and older references do not establish current ordering availability.
Use a reference, then measure your own van
These figures describe nominal cargo space rather than the finished interior after insulation and lining. Wall and roof curves, wheel-arch cover shapes and the registration of arches and doors within the cargo area are planning estimates, not manufacturer CAD or a survey.
Select a reference in the planner, compare it with your actual vehicle and update the measurements. Then set your material build-ups before sizing closely fitted furniture. The template pages explain each included variant and link to its source material.
Understand the Volkswagen and Renault reference contours
The 12 references for Volkswagen Transporter 6.1, Volkswagen Crafter, Renault Master IV and Renault Trafic III now have their own public dimension tables. Their wall, roof and wheel-arch contours remain generic editable planning shapes, with source editions shown in the selector. Publishing a table does not upgrade that geometry into a surveyed body.
These four families do not have the original families' detailed body drawing guides. Check the named generation, country, drivetrain and publication against your own vehicle; shared names and similar dimensions do not establish an exact contour or current ordering availability.
