Privacy and website measurement

This notice explains the limited first-party information used to understand how people find the planner and whether they complete useful next steps. Contact hello@van-design.co.uk with privacy questions.

How a visit is associated with a signup

The public site can keep a known public landing-page path and a broad source category in this tab's session storage: a search engine, an identifiable AI assistant or AI search referral, another website, or a direct or unknown source. A recognised referring hostname is used transiently to choose the category; we do not retain the provider name, external referring address, prompts, search terms or URL query strings. The stored information is limited to the current tab session and does not use an advertising cookie.

The AI referral category counts identifiable referred visits, not every AI answer or citation. Some services and browsers omit referral information. Google and Bing referrals remain in the search-engine category because a referring hostname alone does not tell us whether someone used an AI answer or a conventional result. Earlier general referral records are not relabelled.

When you open the editor, these limited values can be linked to its session and your account to record whether you create an account, start checkout or complete a confirmed payment. This helps us compare the public pages that lead people to use the planner. The measurement records do not contain your email, IP address or build contents. Operational account, build and payment information is held separately so the service can work.

Your browser's privacy preference

Acquisition measurement respects the browser's Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track preferences. The measurement does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. The public site remains usable when browser storage or JavaScript is unavailable.

Aggregate public request counts may also be used to understand which pages are requested. A request count is not a count of unique people: it may include automated visitors and requests that reach the application after a cache miss, while cached responses may not reach the application.

Accounts, builds and payments

An account uses the email address and password you provide to sign in. Saved paid builds and their revisions are associated with the account so you can reopen them. A Build Pass purchase is processed through Stripe; payment status and references are used to unlock the relevant build and support payment recovery.

If you create a live sharing link, people with the active link can view the shared model. If you enable feedback, they can read comments posted to that link. You can turn feedback off or revoke the sharing link from the workspace. Keep private information out of anything you deliberately share.

Cleanup and questions

Once website measurement is active, we periodically delete its server-side acquisition records after 90 days. The limited landing-page information stored in your browser lasts only for the tab session. Account, build and payment records are managed separately because they are needed to provide the service.

For a question about your information or a request concerning your account, contact hello@van-design.co.uk. Include enough context to identify the account or request, without sending passwords or payment-card information.
